Everyday (Video)

Everyday is a web video by American photographer Noah Kalina.

Kalina began at the age of 19 years on 11 January 2000 a day to photograph themselves. On every single photo Kalina is completely emotionless seen in the image center. Originally intended as a photo project to Kalina decided, inspired by a similar video of Ahree Lee to produce a video. The video includes the original version over six years of daily self- portraits Kalina created, which can be seen consecutively in chronological order, and a second in the video includes six images. The video is accompanied in the background musical with the same piano piece by Carly Comando.

Meanwhile Kalina has created an updated version that includes a period of 12.5 years.

Effect

Kalina uploaded the video on 8 August 2006 on Vimeo and on August 27, 2006 to YouTube, Everyday later was shown on VH1 in Web Junk 20 and as a commercial for Time Warner Cable 's Road Runner service. In the coming years Everyday was called alone on YouTube 25 million times (as of July 2013).

In an article in the New York Times, William A. Ewing, director of the Musée de l' Elysée in Lausanne, quoted as follows:

" Noah 's video Represents a phenomenal amplification not just in what he produced and how he did it, but how many people the piece touched in seeking a short period of time. There is nothing Comparable in the history of photography. " "

Everyday now part of the permanent collection of the Austin Museum of Art addition, the video was also part of the exhibition "The Evolution of the Digital Portrait" in the Chelsea Art Galleries in New York.

In The Simpsons episode "Forget - margin - Not " is to see a parody of Kalina's video. In this parody of 39 years from Homer Simpson's life will be presented at the same background melody. This led to disagreements between the producers of The Simpsons and Carly Comando, because no royalties for the use of music composed by her were paid. The result was awarded a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program and Carly Comando honored for their contribution in September 2008.
