Everything Is Illuminated is an American feature film from the year 2005. It is based on the novel by Jonathan Safran Foer.

Action

The American Jew Jonathan is a collector with all your soul. All that is dear to him, comes in small plastic bags in his well -stocked collection. With the death of his grandmother, he receives a photo of his grandfather with an unfamiliar woman. Jonathan assumes that this woman with his grandfather had a relationship. On the back of the photograph there is the statement " Trachimbrod 1940 ".

He decides to embark on a trip to the Ukraine to find the village Trachimbrod. There he hopes to find the woman in the picture. To be well prepared for the trip to the foreign country, Jonathan hires a team of volunteers from the Jewish Heritage Tours. This poses as a duo from a supposedly blind grandfather, but still very good driving car, and his grandson Alex out.
