Evgeniya Rodina

Evgeniya Rodina Sergejewna (Russian Евгения Сергеевна Родина; born February 4, 1989 in Moscow, Soviet Union) is a Russian tennis player.

Career

Rodina, which is a professional player since 2004 and loves to play on hard courts, has a brother. Her mother Oxana is coach of the Russian U16 team.

They first went to in ITF tournaments. Followed in 2005 in Tashkent, where she reached the quarterfinals, her first appearance on the WTA tour. In 2007 she won the junior - double of the Australian Open. In 2008, she was at Wimbledon in singles in the third round, where she defeated Anna Chakvetadze. In the same year she reached the U.S. Open in doubles with Jelena Lichowzewa the second round, in which they could not compete, however.
