Evgraf Fedorov

Jewgraf Stepanovich Fyodorov (Russian Евграф Степанович Фёдоров, scientific transliteration Evgraf Stepanovic Fedorov; * 10 Dezemberjul / December 22 1853greg in Orenburg, .. † May 21, 1919 in Petrograd ) was a Russian crystallographer and mineralogist. He directed parallel (but methodologically largely independent ) to Arthur Moritz Schoenflies the 230 crystallographic space groups. Fyodorov invented in 1892 the universal stage, a supplementary device for light microscopes, which is used to analyze geometric and optical properties of minerals.
