Ewald Wenck

Hermann Ewald Wenck ( born December 28, 1891 in Berlin, † April 30, 1981 ) was a German actor, comedian and radio presenter.

Life

He made ​​his theater debut after private acting lessons in 1912 at the Stadttheater Bautzen in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Further engagements followed in Konstanz, Gera and finally Berlin. In Berlin, Wenck acted primarily at the Metropol Theatre and at the Admiralty.

Ewald Wenck began his career as a film actor in the silent film era and made his debut as an actor in 1919 Hans Werckmeister Margot's Free, followed by other film productions. He had his real breakthrough, however, only with the advent of sound film, when he was a sought-after performer was in the 1930s and 1940s.
