Exumer is a German thrash metal band.

Band History

It was founded in 1984 by Mem Von Stein, Ray mensh, Bernie settlers, and Syke Bornetto. A year later the band produced a demo tape with three songs, and published a year later their debut album Possessed by Fire. A year later, she released her second and last album Rising from the Sea with new singer Paul Arakari. 1989 still appeared the demo Whips & Chains in heavily modified cast, after which the band broke up.

Ten years after the breakup, the band played at the Wacken Open Air 2001 concert.

2009 there was an official reunion, which began with a concert on the 12 Keep-it -true - Festival. The band performed here without Syke Bornetto and Bernie settlers and played in the same month, four more concerts in Germany, Greece and the United States, which were combined to " 5 Nights of Fire " tour. Furthermore announced more shows and new song material.

2010 changed the occupation. Paul Arakari and J. P. Rapp got out. As new members guitarist H.K. were and drummer Matthias Kassner committed. In 2011 the band signed a deal with Metal Blade and a new CD called " Fire And Damnation " was released in spring 2012. In July 2013, the band announced the separation of guitarist HK.

Style

Exumer plays rough Thrash Metal, which is heavily influenced by Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Venom, Slayer and Exodus.

Importance

While the debut album Possessed by Fire especially is still very well known in the underground, is considered the second album Rising from the Sea, mainly due to the singer change, as clearly uninspired. Matthias Herr writes in his Heavy Metal Encyclopedia:
