Ezequiel González

Ezequiel González ( * July 10, 1980 in Rosario ) is an Argentine football player.

Ezequiel González began his professional career in 1997 in his hometown at Rosario Central. After four years he left his club in the summer of 2001 and moved to the Italian Serie A Fiorentina. Due to settling problems and only moderate playing time, he met after only one season, the decision back to his native Argentina to return. So he landed in 2003 after one season with the traditional club Boca Juniors again at the first stop of his career, Rosario Central. After half a year González joined in January 2004 for the transfer fee of $ 500,000 to Greece for Panathinaikos Athens. There, the Argentines established right from the beginning and was among the top performers of his team.

With Panathinaikos Ezequiel González could also win his first professional title. After winning the Greek Cup club he secured his team a few weeks later the Greek championship. The following season, Gonzalez was also the first time to make international attention by scoring three goals in group stage of the UEFA Champions League. One of these matches was voted one of the best goals of the season, as González Jens Lehmann could be duped and from around 30 meters hit the target.

González acts in the central midfield and stands out in particular due to his technical skills. For the fans of Panathinaikos he is one of the most popular players.
