Ezra Jenkinson
Ezra Jenkinson (* 1872 in Todmorden, England, † 1947 ) was an English composer and violinist. His most famous work, which is one of the classics of the violin repertoire for beginners, is the Dance of the Elves.
Life
About his life very little is known. According to the English author and artist William Holt, who was acquainted with him in his youth Jenkinson spent seven years in Leipzig, thanks to a music scholarship that had made him a patron available. He then sold the rights to his works, returned to his hometown and went to live alone. He shunned publicity and did not appear publicly.
