Ezzedine Salim

Ezzedine Salim (Arabic عز الدين سليم, DMG ' Izz al -Din Salīm; * 1943 in Basra, Baghdad † 17 May 2004 ), was president of the provisional Iraqi Governing Council.

Life

Salim was head of the Islamic Dawa movement in the southern Iraqi city of Basra. He was a writer, philosopher, politician and editor of several newspapers and magazines.

He died in a bomb attack on his convoy in Baghdad. He was the second member of the provisional Iraqi Governing Council, which came by a stroke killed. To attack later, the Islamist organization Jama ʿ at al - Tawheed wa al - Jihad.
