Fabio De Crignis

Fabio De Crignis ( born April 7, 1968 in Chiesa in Valmalenco ) is an Italian former Alpine skier. He specializes in the slalom discipline.

Biography

De Crignis drove in the 1989/90 season races in the European Cup and was awarded second place in the slalom discipline standings. He was then taken into the Italian national ski team, of which he was the next seven years. His first countable result in the World Cup he scored on 8 August 1990, when he went up to fourth place in Slalom at Mount Hutt in New Zealand ( World Cup points were only available for the 15 best competitors ). Seven months later, on March 10, 1991, he finished third in Aspen. In the following years, however, he only occasionally get top 10 rankings, which is why it multiplies in the European Cup came into use again.

In winter 1994/94 De Crignis took third place in the Europa Cup slalom standings, in the following season in second place. On November 26, 1995, he was third in the World Cup slalom in Park City, which was once the final podium of his career. De Crignis took part in the Winter Olympics in 1992, but retired in the second round of the slalom. His single result at the World Championships in 1997 was the 20th Place. After moderate performance in the 1996/97 season he retired from professional racing.
