Face detection
As face recognition (including Face Detection portrait Recognition) is a technology in digital photography refers to one or more faces automatically detects and captures people shots. The digital camera provides for active face recognition function automatically on the faces it finds sharp and selects the best image parameters such as exposure and white balance for optimal viewing of the skin color, gradients, etc. When the first cameras with this capability turned the camera manufacturer Nikon Coolpix models 7900, Coolpix 5900 and Coolpix 7600 at PMA 2005.
Operation
The image analysis method of face detection based on mathematical calculations, taking into account the following criteria:
- Moving objects;
- Oval shapes, which are interpreted as a possible heads;
- Colors within these forms which allow for the presence of the skin pigment melanin, which occurs with any skin color, close;
- Eyes, which are identified on the basis of their statistically comparable distance.
The discovered while scouting faces are framed in color on the LCD screen, which allows a review of the selection.
The face recognition works in both frontal and profile shots. It does not matter how far away the people from the camera are, whether they are moving or whether other objects are in the foreground or background of the composition.
