Fairfield Athletic F.C.
Fairfield Athletic ( officially: Fairfield Athletic Football Club, often Fairfield Football Club ) was an English football club based in Fairfield, a suburb of present-day Droylsden in Greater Manchester, the three times unsuccessfully applied for admission to the Football League.
History
The center of the club 1880 Founded joined in 1892 the Lancashire League in which had at that time professional status and out of in the following years with Liverpool (1893 ), the Bury FC (1894 ) and the FC Blackpool ( 1896), several clubs in the Football League were taken. Fairfield finished the first two seasons in the Lancashire League in ninth place in the table with twelve teams. The 1894/95 season was the most successful club history. In addition to the surprising winning the championship for the only time they reached the first round of the FA Cup, but was defeated there by 1:11 the "Team of All Talents" Sunderland AFC, which dominated the English league at the time.
