Faisal Shahzad

Faisal Shazad ( Faisal Shahzad also; * June 30, 1979 in Pakistan ) is a Pakistani- American bombers. He was convicted as a principal in charge of the attempted attack on Times Square on May 1, 2010 to life imprisonment.

Shazad came from Pakistan and got just before the attempted attack, the U.S. citizenship. He is married and father of two children. On 18 June 2010 he was accused by the New York State Attorney General in ten points. His trial began on June 21, 2010 at noon in New York. Shazad pleaded guilty and was sentenced on October 5, to life imprisonment.

Background

Shazad had traveled regularly to the United States since 2001 and had studied computer science at universities there. In 2009 he received the U.S. citizenship and lived with his wife and two children in Bridgeport. Shazads father, Bahar ul- Haq, was air marshal and deputy in the 1990s, Director of Civil Aviation of Pakistan. His uncle had several high positions in the police force of the North West Frontier Province and was inspector general of the paramilitary border troops. Shazad completed a combat training in Waziristan and was a supporter of the preacher Anwar al -Awlaki, who is said to have inspired him to the act.
