Faith mission

As a faith mission is referred to in most evangelical missiology such interdenominational mission agencies that dispense as far as the financing of immediate advertising and fundraising.

History

The so-called faith missions go back to the English missionary Anthony Norris Groves and dentist. The part belonging to the Brethren movement Groves refused to raise funds for his missionary work in the traditional way and on the basis that ( Matthew 19:21 LUT). Groves is considered the father of faith missions.

A number of missionary societies in England in the late 18th and early 19th century built on the model of faith mission, including, founded by Hudson Taylor China Inland Mission ( CIM). Taylor pursued, like Groves, in his work, the principle of do not ask directly in the Christian public for donations. The CIM missionaries no payment was also guaranteed.

Today it is one of the faith missions in Germany to the evangelical missions that are organized in the Association of Evangelical Missions (AEM ).
