Falck (Denmark)

Falck A / S is a privately held company that among other things, on behalf of municipalities or companies the duties of the fire department and emergency medical personnel takes over (in two thirds of the municipalities in Denmark). The joint stock company incorporated under Danish law has its headquarters in Copenhagen and was listed from 1995 to 2005 on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.

History

" Falck Redningskorps " was founded in 1906 by the Dane Sophus Falck, who in 1884 helped himself upon unloading operations of major fire at Christiansborg Castle. 1907 stationed the company the first ambulance in Scandinavia. A year later, Falck built on a clinic in Copenhagen. The expansion outside the city limits of Copenhagen took place in 1919 with a location in Odense.

1922 were first offered by the company fire brigade services. In 1947 the air rescue, 1963, the Danish main competitors to the company to do so. In 1988 the company was sold by the family to the Falck - Baltica Insurance.

Nowadays Falck is on two main business areas: firstly, in the " Emergency" ( rescue injured, firefighters, etc.), on the other hand in the " Assistance & Security" (eg, breakdown service, value transportation or medical care for the elderly). Falck has a total of tens of thousands of employees in 31 countries worldwide.

Shareholder

2011 has sold its shares in Falck financial investor Nordic Capital. New shareholders are now the Lundbeck Foundation, the investment firm of Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen and management.

Denmark

In Denmark, Falck performs approximately 12,000 erase operations and 85% of the rescue service operations from annually.

Germany

Since early 2010, there are in Germany the Falck corporation with headquarters in Cologne.

2011, the hammer rescue service company Herzig was acquired by Falck. From 1 January 2013 Falck acquires about the company Herzig emergency services in the district of Spree- Neisse .. The additional remuneration in numerous tenders the Falck GmbH has won several locations within a short time. Falck is represented in the following cities: Gelsenkirchen, Hamm, Herten, Lüdenscheid, Pulheim and Münster ( from 1 May 2014). Since August 2013 a part of the G.A.R.D. Charitable Ambulance and Rescue Service GmbH with various subsidiaries of the Falck Group. This Falck is by far the largest private ambulance service companies in Germany. Around 2,000 employees with more than 400 vehicles at 50 locations and process more than 400,000 applications per year. Managing directors are Alexander Kirstein, Klaus Runggaldier, Sven Jerimoth and Björn Keller.

In Bremerhaven, Falck has a modern training center for safety training in the offshore industry.

Austria

Falck has provided 2009 annual operating costs of 43 million euro at the invitation of the rescue service in Tyrol. The consortium of public agencies has offered 27.5 million euros, awarded the contract and commenced operations on July 1, 2011. Already in January 2012, it became clear that additional funds for operation are necessary. The Group has received Notzuschüsse in the amount of 4.5 million euros. Auditor calculated on behalf of the country costs in the amount of 6 million euros. For the case of subsidization Falck has announced a lawsuit.

Spain

Since 2007, the seat of the International Fire Services that controls the fire services Falck outside Denmark.
