Familie Leitner

Leitner family was a monthly impromptu television series of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation modeled after the popular radio drama series The Radio Family Floriani from sender " Red-White- Red". It was first aired on September 28, 1958.

In 100 episodes of 30 minutes up to the year 1967, this first television soap opera in Austria described the weal and woe of a Viennese average family in the 1950s and 1960s. Producer Erich Neuberg, the authors Hans Schubert and later Fritz Eckhardt, as well as director Otto Schenk created, supported by the best actors of the period, a time image of the class.

In Germany, 31 episodes were aired, these episodes are from the years 1959 to 1961 and 1963 until 1967.

As a legitimate successor you may call the dear family, which was also on Saturdays shown in impromptu format from 1980 to 1993 by 17 clock in the ORF and cult status has been reached.
