Family Video Diaries: Daughter of the Bride is an American documentary short film from 1997 The film was nominated for the Academy Awards in 1998 for an Academy Award for "Best Short Documentary ". . The film is part of the Family Video Diaries series of the television program provider HBO.

Action

The documentary filmmaker Terri Randall accompanied her family to the video camera after Terri's mother, 66 -year-old Pearl, has announced that they want to get married again. Terri and her siblings have to deal with the new situation. Pearl, a widow for 40 years, Seymour met and fell in love with him. Their three children are concerned about what this means to them and whether the marriage again something changes on memory of her long-dead father. Terri Randall shows how her mother about whether she should to the wedding the beads that you gave her first husband, wearing, or rather a gold necklace that she got from Seymour. Todd Everett saw the film for the magazine Variety and was not enthusiastic in his review of 4 November 1997. Everett accuses the filmmaker selfishness before ( " Daughter of the Bride could not be more self-centered" ) and measures the total lack of representation of the groom ( " Randall Seems to think did her story is quite enough family; let Rose's new husband 's family make Their Own documentary "). Nevertheless, the film was " nicely done " ( "nicely made" ) and sell " colorful characters " ( "colorful characters" ).
