Fanny Mendelssohn Quartet

The Munich Fanny Mendelssohn Quartet, Renate Eggebrecht 1st Violin, 2nd Violin Mario Korunić, Stefan Berg viola, cello Kupsa Friedemann, 1989 on the occasion of the performance of the String Quartet in E flat major and the premiere of the piano quartet flat major by Fanny Mendelssohn on 6 established in March 1989 in Munich Gasteig. The string quartet sat still for unknown music by women composers and can boast many world premieres among other things, several works by Violeta Dinescu, Gloria Coates, Fukuo Yamagushi and Mayako Kubo (Clean Bert Evers, guitar).

The four musicians played chamber music of Fanny Mendelssohn (Stefan Mickisch, piano) and Ethel Smyth as world premiere recordings on a CD. They put the CD world premieres of quartets by Elisabeth Lutyens, Gloria Coates and Violeta Dinescu before, and CD recordings of string quartets by Bacewicz, Germaine Tailleferre, Arthur Bliss and Darius Milhaud ( Ulrike Sonntag, soprano ). In 1997, the ensemble played the piano chamber music of Max Reger, his Piano Quintet in C minor and his two piano quartets on two CDs ( Wolfram Lorenzen, piano).

The quartet turned on the Schleswig -Holstein Music Festival with the interpretation of the String Quartet in E minor by Ethel Smyth and the piano quartet by Fanny Mendelssohn ago ( Céline Dutilly, piano). Even at the music festival Chard / England they could inspire the audience for the first time with works by Fanny Mendelssohn. Radio and television recordings at home and abroad followed.
