Faris McReynolds

Ahmad Faris McReynolds Liam ( born November 12, 1977 in Dallas, Texas) is an American painter and musician.

McReynolds lives in Los Angeles. His paintings have been shown in Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York, Berlin, Padua and Antwerp, and in numerous solo exhibitions. Reports of his work have Flash Art Magazine and Art Week has been published in Details, Art Papers, Tema Celeste.

McReynolds grew up as the son of an Indian woman and an American on in Richardson, a suburb of Dallas. He spent his childhood alternating between Texas and Bombay and joined at the age of eight years ( he is the nephew of actor Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab ) in a Bollywood film titled " Shahadat " on. In 2000, he received his BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) at the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. Already at the age of 21 began his painting to show the public.

Stylistically seems McReynolds current painting strongly influenced by French Impressionism and Post - Impressionism, the work of Richard Prince and Sherrie Levine from the 1980s, Andy Warhol's disaster paintings as well as by Francis Bacon. His brushwork ranges from expressive impasto to delicate watercolor. Most of his paintings are completed in a single session to capture the immediate action. Instead of documenting real events, he directs his attention to the theatrical imagery inherent in the comedy and the tragedy.
