Faruk Nafız Özak

Faruk Nafiz Özak ( born April 19, 1946 in Trabzon ) is a Turkish engineer, politician and Minister of Construction and colonization ( Bayındırlık ve Iskan Bakani ).

Özak graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi at the ( Civil Engineering). He played as a professional football player and team leader at Trabzonspor and received the award Athlete of the Year ( Yilin Sporcusu ). He was a member of the Executive Committee and President of the Association. Özak was a director in the YAPISUN AG. He is a founding member of the Association for the Development of Trabzon.

Faruk Nafiz Özak was a member of the Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi ( AKP) for the province of Trabzon in the 22nd legislative period (October 14, 2002 to July 22, 2007 ) of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. He was also Minister of Construction and colonization in the 59th Government ( I. Erdoğan Cabinet) of the Republic of Turkey. Özak is 2007 Member of the Cabinet of II Erdoğan AKP government under Erdogan, in which he was again Minister of Construction and settlement by 1 May 2009 and then Minister of State for Youth and Sport since August 29.

Özak is married and has two children.
