Fässbergs IF

Fässbergs IF is a Swedish football club based in Mölndal. The team of the club was 1924 Swedish national champion and has played 15 seasons in the Swedish second league.

History

Fässbergs IF was on 24 April 1916 as a merger of the clubs Celtic IK, IK and Krokslätts Mölndals IF. At the beginning of the 1920s, the football team in the regional, west Swedish championship was regularly placed on the front ranks. The greatest success of the club's history succeeded in 1924, when, IK Sirius was clearly defeated 5-0 in the final of the Swedish Championship, which at that time was still played in the Cup mode and was won Von Rosen's Cup. Since the introduction of a national league was decided, had to qualify for this the club. While this succeeded in sporting terms, for economic reasons the club, however, participation was denied and Landskrona BoIS took the place in the elite series one.

1928 belonged Fässbergs IF the 20 founding members of the then second-rate Division 2 and the comprehensive ten teams southern group was assigned. 1934, the team was second division champions, but failed in the rise of games with 1:3 - and 0:2 - defeats at Landskrona BoIS.
