Fátima Báñez

Maria Fatima Banez Garcia ( born January 6, 1967 in San Juan del Puerto, Huelva Province) is a Spanish politician of the Partido Popular.

Life and career

Banez studied law and economics. From 1997 to 2000 she worked for the Andalusian broadcasting companies Radio y Televisión de Andalucía ( RTVA ).

Since 2000 she is a Member of the Legislative of Deputies for the electoral district of Huelva. On 22 December 2011, she was appointed Minister of Labour and Social Security in the Cabinet Rajoy.

Banez is married and has two children.
