Fatima Masumeh Shrine

The shrine of Fatima Masuma (Persian حرم فاطمه معصومه ), the 817 deceased daughter of the seventh and sister of the eighth Imam of Twelver Shi'ites, is located in the eastern Iranian city of Qom ( Qom ). After the Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad, he is the second most important Shiite shrine in Iran; its golden dome is a landmark of the city.

Fatima al - Masuma (DMG Fatima al - Ma ʿ Suma, " the sinless " ) had allowed himself to get into the Shiite center of Qom to die, after she had been ill on the journey to her brother Ali ar - Rida in Saveh.

The mosque has three domes and six minarets. On the grounds of the shrine complex one of the largest Shiite schools of clergymen, the Islamic theological college ( Hauwza ) of Qom, which was known in Europe by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini mainly arose. Many buildings were built in the early 17th century I. under Shah Abbas. Within the shrine also three daughters of ninth Twelver Shiite Imam Muhammad at- Taqi are buried.
