Fatmir Mediu

Fatmir Mediu ( born January 21, 1967 in Durres ) is an Albanian politician of the Republican Party (PR ), whose chairman he has been since 1997. In the cabinet Berisha II he manages since 2009 the Ministry of Environment.

Curriculum vitae

Fatmir Mediu studied at the Geological Faculty of the University of Tirana and was 1991-1992 Chairman of the Republican Party in Qark Fier. In 1997 he was elected chairman of his party. Under the third government of Sali Berisha in 2005 he was Minister of Defence in September. However, he resigned in March 2008 back from this post after Gerdec exploded in an ammunition dump and 26 people lost their lives. Since the last government formation in 2009, he is Minister of the Environment.
