Bećiraj (2009)

Fatos Bećiraj (Cyrillic Фатос Бећирај, Albanian Besim Fatos Beqiraj; born 5 May 1988 in Peć, SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Montenegrin football player born in Kosovo. He is since August 2010 at Dinamo Zagreb under contract.

Career

Association

Bećiraj began his career at KF Shqiponja before the age of 17 he moved to city rivals KF Besa in July 2007. His good performances for half of the season in the first Kosovar League 2007/ 08 attracted to the clubs from the region, and in the spring of 2008, he joined the Montenegrin club FK Budućnost Podgorica. There he was immediately regulars and made nine goals in 15 matches in the second half of the season. He was with the team Montenegrin football champions and reached the final of Montenegro Cup, which was lost with 5:6 but on penalties. In the following two years Bećiraj scored 28 league goals in 62 games for the club from Podgorica and was top scorer in the 2008/ 09 season with 18 goals.

On 30 August 2010, he joined the Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb.

National

Bećiraj was first nominated by the then Montenegrin U-21 coach Dušan Vlaisavljević 2009 and won his first game on June 7, 2009, qualifying for the U-21 European Championship in 2011 against Kazakhstan. He made five appearances for the U- 21 before he was nominated in the senior squad for the qualifier against Italy. He came on in the 70th minute for Radomir Đalović.
