Fauro Island

Fauro is a small island in the Western Province of the Pacific island nation of Solomon Islands.

The 75 km ² island is one of the Shortland Islands. It lies only a few kilometers south of the border to the neighboring State of Papua New Guinea. Fauro is of volcanic origin and is fringed by coral reefs; the highest point is about 480 m high.
