FC Chita

The FK Chita (Russian ФК Чита ) is a Russian football club from the city of Chita.

History

The club was founded in 1974 as a locomotive Chita. This name kept the club until 2005.

Locomotive played in the third highest Soviet league in 1974 and 1977. In 1978 the team was relegated. In 1984 the club returned in this league and remained mediocre until the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.

In 1992, the team was divided into the newly established Division 1 2005 and had relegated. In the season 2008, the championship was won in the 2nd Division "East". Thus FK Chita returned to the first division. There, however, the club lasted only one season and had to after the 2009 season as the fourth relegated back to the 2nd Division "East".
