Reviews

FearDotCom was generally enormously bad reviews: Rotten Tomatoes counted a total of 95 reviews, only three positive, on average awarded the critics the film 2.7 out of 10 possible points. The page summarizes the consensus as follows: " FearDotCom is as frustrating as a 404 error - the film is a stylish but incoherent and nasty mess with just a few eerie moments. " Often criticized was also not too exciting abgekupferte at The Ring history, as well as the fact that the actor Jeffrey Combs, Stephen Rea and Udo Kier hardly come into play. Mick LaSalle wrote in the San Francisco Chronicle of 30 August 2002, the film was " worse than bad" ( " badder than bad" ). He was a disaster except for the representations; were particularly bad the camera work, lighting, and especially the director. LaSalle scoffed that viewers would die of boredom.

The website " Cineclub " judged the film as follows: "That we had it all before, right? Correct - somehow reminds the whole of The Ring (...) FearDotCom is a disgrace for every audience! Without any green tones filmed - allegedly an extra in Luxembourg, since one could film there easier dilapidated factories in bad weather. William Malone tried with a variety of classic film tricks to create fear - but when you mix in such a way and steals, which can act only repulsive. Alone for the hope of a great resolution like one or the other still remain in the cinema. But it 's not worth waiting for. "
