Fearless is the debut album of American Contemporary R & B and soul singer Jazmine Sullivan.

Background

In September 2008, Sullivan explained in an interview with Pete Lewis of Blues & Soul the reason for the title of the album Fearless, which means in German fearlessly: " I called the album" Fearless ", because I have simply not afraid of anything at the moment. I'm young, only 22 years old ... and I just think if you just have your own uniqueness times beherzigst and no fear and it sometimes risking to be different, it will make everyone else too! ".

Success

Fearless debuted at # 6 of the U.S. album chart with 65,000 units sold in the first week. The album was ranked number ten in the second chart week in which it could sell 42,000 more copies. The album also reached number one on the Billboard Top R & B / Hip- Hop Albums chart. In November 2010, Fearless had sold 517,000 times in the United States.

In 2009, the album received five Grammy Award nominations: Best Female Vocal performance in R & B ( "Need U Bad" ), Best Vocal performance in Traditioniellen R & B ("I'm in Love with Another Man " ), Best R & B Song ( " Bust Your Windows " ) and Best Contemporary R & B album. In addition, she was nominated for a Grammy for Best New Artist. The Vibe magazine has named the panel to one of the best of 2008.
