Federal district
A Federal District ( capital area Capital Territory ) is a special administrative unit which contains the capital of a state.
Reasons for the establishment of a capital district may be:
- The capital city has a special function, and these should be highlighted by differentiation from the other regions.
- No part of the country should have an advantage or disadvantage ( in competition and / or in terms of funding ) have, just because is the capital in its field.
- The capital should to all other regions in political terms, have a neutral relationship.
- No part of the country should be given the opportunity to intervene directly in the State politics.
- Conflicts of jurisdiction are rigorously excluded. For example, excluded from the outset that regional authorities (eg building inspectors ) authority over institutions of the general government obtained ( before an important meeting, for example, blocking the parliament building ).
A capital district, forming a nationwide immediate area in a federal state, is often referred to as the Federal District.
