Fédération Internationale d'Escrime

The Fédération Internationale d' Escrime ( FIE ), based in Lausanne is the recognized by the International Olympic Committee international governing body for the sport of fencing. The founding in 1913 FIE include 149 national associations (as of 2014).

Tasks

The tasks of the FIE are according to their statutes:

• To publicize the sport of fencing in the world
• To organize international tournaments between Mitlgiederverbänden
• List of international rules for fencing
• To organize world championships in all age groups
• The fight against the use of doping substances
• Organize fencing together with the International Olympic Committee at the Olympic Games
• Ensure that at competition venues there is no discrimination
