Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand

The Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand ( FIANZ ) is a registered nationwide association of regional New Zealand Muslim organizations based in Wellington, which was founded on 15 April 1979. Initiator and the first elected president was Mazhar Krasniqi, since June 2003, officiated Muhammad Javed Iqbal Khan (June 2009 ). Between 1982 and 1999, the late Sheikh Khalid Hafiz functioned as a religious counselor to FIANZ.

The FIANZ want to represent the neuseelandische Muslim society to the outside and in 1984 introduced a certificate for slaughter is halal rules in collaboration with the New Zealand Meat Producers Board.
