Feeder

Feeder is a British rock band from Newport in Wales.

History

Feeder was founded in London in 1992 by the Welsh singer Grant Nicholas, Taka Hirose Japanese bassist and drummer Jon Lee.

After two EPs Two Colours and swim, which appeared in 1995 and 1996, brought feeder in the following year released her first album Polythene. The next two albums Yesterday Went Too Soon and Echo Park, which were published in 1999 and 2001, ended up in the British charts on single-digit squares. Even the singles, especially Buck Rogers from the album Echo Park, were successful. Both Seven Days in the Sun and Buck Rogers were played frequently on the radio in the UK, the latter also appeared in the soundtrack of the film Behind Enemy Lines - One Against All ( Behind Enemy Lines ). Both titles are also in the European version of the PlayStation 2 game Gran Turismo 3 - to hear A-Spec; to the accompaniment of the intro is a special mix of Just a Day. In the successor Gran Turismo 4 is included to hearing the release date in the film Night Watch Shatter. Already on the first version of the PlayStation 1 game Gran Turismo could be heard from the EP Swim the song Sweet 16.

In January 2002, Jon Lee was replaced after his suicide by the English drummer Mark Richardson, the drummer for Skunk Anansie was originally until its dissolution. The published in October 2002 album Comfort in Sound was, however, still emerged with the participation of Jon Lee. The album seems full of sorrow, the death of former bandmember is like a dark cloud over any part of the anthemic melancholy songs. Yet, the album exudes hope and confidence.

Feeders next album Picture of Perfect Youth was a collection of 36 b-sides, including the song Just a Day, which was indeed sold as a separate single, but was previously only available as a B-side. This album was initially available on the website of the band only in a limited number. Since 2007, a re-release in trade is to buy.

Their fifth album Pushing the Senses was released in 2005 after a long pause, followed by the album Silent Cry in 2008.

On 6 May 2009 it was announced that Mark Richardson has left the band to join the reunited Skunk Anansie. With the drummer Karl Brazil was founded in December 2009, the side-project Renegades, which has released two EP.

Since 5 July 2010, the seventh Feeder studio album Renegades is on the shelves of stores, which was, among other things with the drummer Karl Brazil.

In spring 2012, the band released their eighth in the same occupation and so far last studio album Generation Freakshow, whose first single Borders was already available since January.
