Félibrige
Félibrige ( oc. Felibritge ) is an association to which came together on 21 May 1854 on Castle Font Ségune at Avignon writer to initiate a revival of Provençal culture.
The founding members were Frédéric Mistral ( Mistral Frederi ), Joseph Roumanille ( Jouse Roumanille ), Théodore Aubanel, Jean Brunet, Alphonse Tavan, Paul Giera and Anselme Mathieu.
The political intentions - a southern French autonomy - failed. But various other regionalist movements was solely by the pioneering role of Félibrige been the foundation made easier.
Likewise, the attempt of Félibrige to explain the dialect of Saint- Remy for authentic language of the South. For the Amarna exists prouvençau ( organ of Félibrige ) in the form of an almanac today. Nevertheless, the literary flowering of Félibrige in 1900 seems to have ended.
