Felix Kaufmann

Felix Kaufmann ( born July 4, 1895 in Vienna, † December 23, 1949 in New York) was an Austrian-American philosopher of law.

Kaufmann studied law and philosophy in Vienna. From 1922 to 1938 he worked as a lecturer in philosophy of law in Vienna. Felix Kaufmann was a member of the Vienna Circle. In 1938 the location for the Jewish scientist was too difficult. He emigrated to the United States, where he taught until his death as professor of philosophy of law at the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research.
