Ferdinand Bader

Career

Bader started at the age of two years with the alpine skiing. Later he joined the ski jumping and took in December 2001 for the first time at the Ski Jumping Continental Cup (COC ) part. In his first season he was able to prove in the COC some placements in the top ten and reached on 24 February 2002 in Iron Mountain as a third party his first podium. In the season 2002/ 03 he was able to improve and to verify these constant front seats. On 16 February 2003, he won his first COC jumping in Westby, two weeks later follow in Ishpeming another victory. At the end of the season he finished 4th in the overall Continental Cup.

In the summer of 2003, he first took part in the Summer Ski Jumping COC and finally launched at the Summer Grand Prix in Val di Fiemme for the first time at a world-class competition. In the following winter of 2003/ 04 he started mainly in the Continental Cup, where, although he could occupy several podium finishes, but for others jumping missed the second round. He also got some bets in the World Cup, where he was able to win on 10 January 2004 in Liberec with a 22nd place his first World Cup points. In the summer of 2004 he moved between Continental and Grand Prix back and forth and was a COC competition in Lillehammer decide for themselves.

In the winter of 2004/ 05, he finished significantly worse rankings than before, as he had a very slight Springer problems to adapt to the newly introduced weight rule. At the start of the season he first started out in the Continental Cup, where he initially took places in midfield and eventually even took only rear placements. Nevertheless, it was used from mid-January for some World Cup. On 6 February 2005, he was able to celebrate with the fifth place, the best result of his career with one -influenced by snow and wind gusts competition in Sapporo, because he found ideal conditions due to its low starting numbers in the first round. In the remaining Continental Cup of the season he could be placed back regularly among the top twenty. In the summer the COC in 2005 was a 19th place in Lake Placid his best result.

After he always missed the second passage at the beginning of winter 2005/ 06 in the COC, he took no further part in jumping more. In 2006 he finally officially announced his retirement from competitive sport known. He stated that he had the pleasure of ski jumping lost mostly because of the changes in jump style, which resulted from the rule changes from previous years. Since then he studied sports science in Munich.
