Ferdinand Hellmesberger

Ferdinand Hellmesberger ( born January 24, 1863 in Vienna, † March 15, 1940 ibid ) was a conductor, cellist and conductor.

He is the son of Joseph Hellmesberger senior and brother of Joseph Hellmesberger junior. He was a member of the court orchestra from 1879 and from 1883 also the Hellmesberger Quartet. From 1902 to 1905 he was Kapellmeister at the Vienna Volksoper and ran from 1910 Spa Orchestra in Abbey, Baden, Karlovy Vary and Marianske Lazne.

His tomb is located at the Hietzing Cemetery (Group 15, Number 4 D).
