Ferdinand Piloty

Ferdinand Piloty ( the Elder) ( born August 28, 1786 in Homburg, † January 8, 1844 in Munich) was a German lithographer.

Life

Piloty lived in Munich and was here from 1808 to 1815 with Johann Nepomuk Strixner ( 1782-1855 ) is a sequence of 432 lithographs by Old Master Drawings out in 1815 a lithographic work of the galleries in Munich and Schleißheim, later also of the Leuchtenberg 's gallery. He was since 1836 in conjunction with Löhle working on a new gallery work of the Alte Pinakothek, which his son Carl Theodor von Piloty continued.

Ferdinand Piloty was the father of painter Carl Theodor von Piloty and Ferdinand of Piloty. He died in 1844 in Munich.
