Ferdinand von Parseval

Alexander Ludwig Ferdinand von Parseval ( born February 27, 1791 in Metz, † November 13, 1854 in Erlangen, Germany ) was a Bavarian Major General French descent.

Life

Origin

Parseval came a French noble family, which was originally located in Fontaine at Belfort. He was the son of from the effects of the French Revolution to Zweibrücken fled, French artillery officer Philbert Marie César de Parseval (1765-1796) and his wife Frédérique Alexandrine de Bergh.

Military career

Parseval first entered Prussian, soon, however, already in Bavarian army services. He made the 2nd Infantry Regiment in 1812 the Russian campaign and fought with, inter alia, at Polotsk. For his bravery demonstrated here Parseval received the Knight's Cross of the Legion of Honour. In 1816 he was captain for the Lancers, moved in 1819 to the 3rd Chevauleger Regiment and in 1827 Major. In the 1st Cuirassier Regiment Parseval promoted to colonel in 1842, 1848, Major General and commander of a cavalry brigade. 1852 was the General retired.

Parseval had had to acknowledge his French titles of nobility in 1816 in Bavaria. He held the dignity of a royal chamberlains.

Family

Parseval married 1821 in Paris originally from Dublin Countess Franziska ( Fanny ) O'Hegerty ( 1797-1881 ). The couple had several children, among them Maximilian (1823-1902), Otto (1827-1901) and Ferdinand Jakob (1829-1919), the smashing all careers in the Bavarian army and brought it up to the general. The Landau (Pfalz ) born son Joseph ( 1825-1887 ), Bavarian Bezirksamtmann and Chamberlain, the father of the famous inventor and aeronaut August von Parseval (1861-1942).
