Fernando Sor

Fernando Sor ( baptized February 14, 1778 in Barcelona, † July 10, 1839 in Paris, baptized Joseph Fernando Macari Sors as ), in the German-speaking countries also known by the name of Ferdinand Sor, was a Spanish guitarist and composer who works for the guitar but also operas and ballets created.

Life

1778 Fernando Sor was born in Barcelona. When in 1790 his father died, the family had no money for the continuation of music teaching by Fernando. The following year, but it could accommodate his mother at the convent school Montserrat that was free and was taught in the mainly music. 1795 Sor left school and started in Barcelona a military career; he attended for four years, the Army school, he liked very well.
