Ferocactus latispinus is a species of the genus Ferocactus in the cactus family ( Cactaceae ). The specific epithet latispinus means, with broad spikes '.

Description

Ferocactus latispinus grows individually with depressed spherical to flattened, bright green shoots and reaches diameters of 40 centimeters stature heights of up to 30 centimeters. The first description as Cactus latispinus in 1824 by Adrian Hardy Haworth. Nathaniel Lord Britton and Joseph Nelson Rose they put 1922 in the genus Ferocactus.
