Festival Internacional de Benicàssim

The Festival Internacional de Benicàssim ( FIB) is one of the most popular Spanish music festival, which takes place annually in the approximately 80 kilometers north of Valencia town of Benicàssim for 12 years. The close link with the main sponsor, the Dutch brewer Heineken, provides the official name FIBHeineken, in Germany the festival, however, is known as Benicàssim Festival.

Musically, the line-up is based mostly in the indie and alternative scene, as well as in the genre of electronic music.

The duration of the festival is now five days, the first day ( Thursday) comes up with a comparatively limited range, and the last day (Monday) can finish off the festival with a beach party. The number of visitors is 35,000, the area of the festival is 90,000 square meters.

The concerts and DJ sets are taking place on a large main stage and two smaller tent platforms, each equipped with 2-3 video walls. In addition, the program is shown in the change to another video wall which is situated within a quiet zone.

In addition to the musical program, the FIB also offers presentations of various other arts, such as dance, theater, short film or fashion.

The protection provided by the geographical location of the festival in Benicassim holiday factor makes for an international audience (mostly from England, France and Germany ), which settled the campsite a few days before the festival and the city is dominated. In 2006, all the hotels were fully booked within 60 kilometers during this time.
