Fieseler Fi 98

The Fieseler Fi 98 was a dive bomber aircraft of the Fieseler Kassel.

The machine went out of the design competition from the summer of 1934, in which, at the suggestion of Ernst Udet, the Technical Office a lightweight, single-seat dive bomber had been requested. The competition is open to the Blohm & Voss Ha 137 and Henschel Hs which were still involved 123 of which in the end won the draft by Henschel. The same, but completely independent of current, call for a heavy, two-seat dive bomber, the Arado Ar 81 Heinkel He 118 and Junkers, the Ju 87 developed, has nothing to do with. Both processes but are often jumbled in the literature. For the Fieseler aircraft was the first development contract the Air Force. The aircraft was designed as a stable biplane of all-metal construction with standard suspension. When driving a BMW radial engine Bramo was 322 H-2 provided with 650 hp. The flight performance, however, were short of the requirements, so that in addition to the V- patterns no production took place.
