Files transferred over shell protocol

The FIles Transferred over SHell protocol is a protocol that SSH or RSH used to enable file sharing and management between computers.

On the server side of the SSH or RSH implementation, a shell and some standard tools like ls, cat or dd are only required. As an option, a special FISH server program performing the FISH commands instead of the shell and they accelerate.

The protocol was designed by Pavel Machek for the Midnight Commander in 1998.
