Filmmuseum Berlin

The Berlin Film Museum is one of six film museums in Germany. It was as a department of the German Film - opens Museum for Film and Television in 2000.

Exhibitions

With the relocation of the German Film in the movie house on Potsdamer Platz, was called the Department of Film Museum Berlin launched in September 2000. Its permanent exhibition displays exhibits from the entire German film history, including the exile in Hollywood in the era of National Socialism as movie posters, photos, movie costumes, architectural sketches, props. A particular focus is the actress Marlene Dietrich dedicated that has even compiled an extensive private collection.

Since 1 June 2006, the Museum has been added to a television museum. The name of the institution was in German Cinematheque - changed Museum for Film and Television.

In addition to the permanent exhibition, the film museum exhibitions. During the Berlinale in February one year also exhibitions are presented to accompany the retrospective of the respective festivals.

Part of the Filmmuseum a library with extensive holdings in film and literature journals, including important early magazines such as The cinematograph, the photo - stage and the Film-Kurier. Until it moves to the Film Museum was the library for the German Film and Television Academy Berlin ( dffb).

The museum is a member of the German Kinemathekenverbund.
