FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m)

The two-year cycle was interrupted only from 1999 to 2000 to prevent that in the same year held world championships on the short and long course. The competitions include all distances between 50 m and 1500 m.

The event is usually held in indoor swimming pools, which is due to the time (winter or spring) and the other to the short 25-meter track. Over the past few years, more and more athletes have specialized in the Short Course. These swimmers take advantage of the shorter tracks with good turning and long immersion phases from perfect.
