Finite-difference time-domain method

Finite Difference Time Domain ( FDTD, English for finite-difference method in the time domain ) is a mathematical method for the direct integration of time-dependent differential equations. In particular to calculate the solutions of Maxwell's equations, this method has been successfully used. The method was first proposed in 1966 by Kane S. Yee.
