Stronend on the western edge of the Fintry Hills

The Fintry Hills form the western end of a range of hills that extend west from the city of Stirling in Scotland. The highest point is the 512 m Stronend from which you can overlook the village of Fintry.

Like the neighboring Gargunnock Hills they are composed of volcanic rocks, mainly lava and tuff stone that broke out in the Carboniferous.

The northern, western and southern side of the ridge defined by a steep and rugged slope, while the east side gently into the valley of Back Side Burn and Endrick Water. The Boquhan Burn runs first northwestward and flows on the northern slope of Spout Ballochleam down. Walton hole located at the foot of the southern slopes of the hills.
