Fixin wine

Fixin a wine -growing region in the northern part of the Côte de Nuits in France and as Appellation d' Origine is classified. The wines of this name come from the same community as well as from the neighboring village of Fixin Brochon. The total vineyard area is 109 ha of which 21 ha are classified as Premier Cru and 88 ha as Côte de Nuits -Villages, the quantity of wine produced in 2008 at just under 5,000 hl.

The Premier Crus hot Arvelets, Clos de la Perrière, Clos du Chapitre and Hervelets (all approx 5 ha) and Clos Napoléon (1.8 ha). It is almost exclusively red wine - especially the Pinot Noir - grown. The Premiers Crus are long-lived wines that can match qualitatively with those from the neighboring appellation Gevrey- Chambertin.
