Flávio Conceição

Flávio da Conceição ( born June 13, 1974 in Santa Maria da Serra, Brazil ) is a former Brazilian footballer.

Flávio Conceição, who played as a defensive midfielder, began his professional career in 1992 with the Brazilian club Rio Branco, where he remained until he moved to SE Palmeiras for a season. In Palmeiras Conceição won two championships (1993, 1994) and remained until the summer of 1996 under contract. After 100 Erstligapartien for Palmeiras ( four goals) Conceição joined for the transfer fee of 6.3 million euros abroad to Deportivo de La Coruña in Spain where he won the championship in 2000 for the first time. In the same year Conceição changed hands for € 25 million to the top club Real Madrid where he was to have the most successful phase of his career. In addition to two championships and one Spanish Super Cup in 2002, he could win the UEFA Champions League, the European Supercup and the Intercontinental Cup. In 2003, Conceição in the Bundesliga to Borussia Dortmund. After a season with only 14 missions and streaky services Conceição moved to Turkey to Galatasaray where he won the trophy in 2005. In August 2005, Conceição signed a two -year contract with Panathinaikos, but was released in January 2006 due to poor performance by mutual agreement.

After Flávio Conceição won the bronze medal at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in 1996 with Brazil, he was between 1997 and 1999 to the root of the Brazilian men's national team. His greatest successes were the successes in the Copa America (1997 and 1999).
